So, I’ve made some healthy progress on my descriptors article, which is slightly surprising. It’s weird to me that I don’t need this finished until the fall, yet I’m still actually working pretty steadily on it. There were some hiccups, though: I had planned to get a bunch of it written on Sunday and Monday, but the internet line got cut by the lawn mower (it’s temporarily just laying on the ground until we get some equipment in to bury it).
This is going to be a long article, for me. Normally, when I see that an article is getting long (over 3 pages on document editor), I find a way to split it up and make a mini series from it (as can be seen very often on my gaming blog). I don’t have a full page even written yet – most of my time has been spent on planning and research – but my outline is two and a half pages long, and each bullet point so far has averaged 2 paragraphs or more.
That’s all I have for an update so far. Hopefully I’ll be finished with the first draft by the end of this coming weekend. Meanwhile, I’ve focused so much on descriptors that I haven’t really had many ideas for future articles on here. So if there are any core Kotlin, Java, or Python features or design pattern help that you’d like me to write about, just let me know in the comments below.
